Today, Excelia counts 4 700 students, of which 1 150 are internationals. On our different campus, this cultural diversity is omnipresent: French and overseas students meet and mingle while international professionals collaborate with local trainers. 80 nationalities live together side by side in our campus.
Being able to develop new skills
One of the core benefits of growing within a multicultural campus is undoubtedly having the possibility to develop new skills…sometimes without even noticing it ! Throughout classes and conversations, students learn more about others and about themselves. From there stem new skills, previously unsuspected : fluency in a foreign language, the ability to handle a situation where the different students involved don’t speak the same language, a new way of managing group projects... Studying on a multicultural campus means realising that the most ordinary everyday experiences can also be the most enriching.
Encouraging exchanges and developing an open mind
While overseas students have been studying abroad for a long time, this trend, though still quite new in France is becoming increasingly popular as more French students are attracted by international mobility. Discovering new cultures can be done on campus instead of miles from home. Whether in or out of school, rubbing shoulders with internationals enables open-mindedness. This experience reinforces values essential to the fulfilment of all on campus players: co-existing in harmony and tolerance.
Holding an asset for your future professional life
While recruiters appreciate your skills and diploma, your life experience (in and out of school) are vital and also taken into account. Studying in a multicultural environment means mixing with all sorts of personalities and profiles. Working alongside such different people shows that you are able to handle high-level responsibilities such as managing an international project, conducting a conference in front of international clients, collaborating with contractors all over the world…
Succeeding in building an international network
Obviously these on-campus encounters are first and foremost a source of personal development. Building strong bonds is an integral part of a young adult’s life and it is crucial to have trustworthy people to rely on. But these personal relationships may also turn into professional ones.Your projects may exceed borders and shine throughout the world thanks to one simple encounter.
Excelia is aware of the essential contribution of such diversity and strives daily to maintain this environment where respect and open-mindedness are fundamental.
