Biography
Dr Morgane M.C. Fritz first worked as a project-based employee at the Institute for Systems Sciences, Innovation and Sustainability Research at the University of Graz, Austria. She participated in several European and Austrian research projects on topics such as Sustainable Energy Supply and Business Models in medium-sized cities, Processing of Critical Raw Materials from Industrial Waste, and the development of a Platform for Data Exchange and Sustainability Indicators in the Supply Chain.
Prior to obtaining her Doctorate in Sustainable Supply Chain Management, in 2017, at the University of Graz, she was a consultant in sustainable mining at denkstatt GmbH (Austria) and IIED (UK) and a Business Developer for the recycling of waste materials such as residues from municipal solid waste incineration (bottom ashes) at Inashco B.V., Rotterdam, Netherlands, and concrete at Lafarge, Paris, France. In 2014, during her Doctoral Studies, she also completed an internship at the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Geneva, Switzerland, where she was in charge of developing a better understanding of the mercury supply chain for a use in Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining (ASGM), which became one of her research fields since then.She joined Excelia Business School in 2018 as Assistant Professor in Supply Chain Management, before becoming Associate Professor in September 2019. She also supervises students in their theses for their Master qualification and co-supervises PhD students.
Her research activities and interests have led to numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, books and reports for industry, in collaboration with other international researchers. Dr Morgane M.C. Fritz also acts as a reviewer for several academic journals and co-editor for prestigious publishers such as Routledge. Beyond teaching and research, she is also an active member of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Working Group on the Sustainability Mindset and founding member of the Global Movement Initiative (GMI) to promote sustainable development in higher management education.
