The IEF, an Institute by Excelia at the heart of the World Language Conferences

The IEF, renowned for its excellence in the teaching of the French language, recently participated in two major international events, demonstrating its commitment to the dissemination and teaching of the French language throughout the world.

What exactly is the ‘IEF, an Institute by Excelia’?

The IEF is an educational establishment specialising in the teaching of French as a Foreign Language, offering learners an enriching linguistic and cultural experience that can prove to be fundamental in their professional development. It holds the FLE quality label, a guarantee of quality as regards the services and education offered. This label is awarded by 3 French ministries: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. Furthermore, the IEF is a member of the Groupement FLE , which brings together French language schools across France, ensuring quality teaching based on rigorous criteria.

The IEF participates in the 1st FIPF Pan-American Conference for Teachers of French, held in Brasilia

From 20th to 24th November, the IEF made its mark at the Pan-American Conference for Teachers of French, organised by the FIPF - Fédération Internationale des Professeurs de Français (International Federation of Teachers of French). The event, which was attended by around a thousand teachers of French from Latin America, took place in Brasilia. Christian Gaujac, who was representing Excelia’s IEF, hosted a stand and a workshop, showcasing the various courses offered by our institute. These include Training the Trainer courses, as well as intensive, short-study, and long courses for learners. Participating in this event was a perfect opportunity for the IEF to promote its expertise and expand its network across the Americas.

The event brought together around 5,000 language education professionals, including many teachers of French as a Foreign Language. The ACTFL Convention is regarded as the most important gathering of language experts in the United States. Once again, Christian Gaujac represented the IEF, hosting a stand and pedagogical workshops to share knowledge and innovative practices in language teaching. The IEF’s presence at this convention emphasised its commitment to promoting the French language beyond national borders, reaching out to a diverse audience of teachers from secondary and higher education, as well as players in the public and private sectors.

The impact of IEF in the international arena

Participating in such events illustrates the IEF’s and Excelia’s ongoing commitment to promoting excellence in French language teaching and education on a global scale. It also demonstrates the importance the school places on pedagogical innovation and on building strong relationships with international educational communities.

The IEF’s presence at these important events is essential in maintaining Excelia’s reputation of excellence, in attracting new talent and in forging new partnerships. It also helps to strengthen the school’s position as a leading institution of higher education, not only in France but also on the world stage.

The IEF’s recent participation in the FIPF Conference and the ACTFL Convention are not isolated events, but rather milestones in Excelia’s international strategy to promote education and the French language around the world. Such events provide opportunities for future collaboration and demonstrate the school’s commitment to being a key player in global education.
