jade lenoir Excelia ImmobilierMy background

After a vocational Baccalaureate in Business Management, I went on to do a DUT university qualification in Marketing. I then decided to specialise and am currently in Year 3 of the Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Operations, which I’m doing on a work-study track.

Why Real Estate area ?

Simply because, during my previous studies, I had the opportunity to carry out two work placements in the real estate sector, which really convinced me that this was what I wanted to do.

Why did you choose Excelia?

Firstly, for the sheer diversity of the programme. It covers all the different aspects of real estate such as transactions, leasing, rental management, multiple ownership, etc. This means gaining an in-depth knowledge of the whole industry and discovering professions that I didn’t even know existed. Secondly, the teaching team is made up of real estate professionals, who are keen to share their expertise and experience, which makes the lessons especially interesting and informative.

Finally, the school has formed a partnership with CITYA IMMOBILIER, which offers opportunities to work-study students interested in pursuing a career in this field. I’m lucky enough to be one of those students working at CITYA IMMOBILIER this year, and I’m sure that this experience will live up to my expectations!

So, how are things going?

This is the first time that I’ve studied on a work-study track. Initially, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to juggle school and work. However, everything is going really well… I spend 3 weeks at work, followed by 1 week at school. It’s often quite hectic, but the Excelia team is always on hand to support us, listen to what we have to say and ensure that we all successfully complete the year. We have exams at the end of each semester, which are 60% of our final marks, and throughout the year there is continuous assessment through group work, tutorials, oral presentations, which account for the remaining 40%.

What do you particularly like about your studies?

What I really like about this programme is the quality of the teaching. In some subjects, we’ve had the opportunity to experience things first hand, such as going out to locate land for property development, and visiting the city of Tours to learn how to recognise the different eras in which buildings were constructed. We can take the Voltaire certificate or TOEIC… a great way to boost your CV! In short, it’s a very rewarding programme!
