A new vision for the future

The competition amongst business schools is tough, as the quest for excellence continues. Excelia has distinguished itself on several criteria and has made a name for itself with its strategy of diversification, both regionally and in terms of its programmes.

The challenge for the major business schools, in the years to come, will be to reinvent themselves in order to face the issues of climate change and to prepare students to deal with the impact their companies will have on the planet. Excelia has been involved in these issues for several decades: it is a pioneer in environmental challenges and the educating of students to become responsible managers.

In particular, it promotes the values of Sustainable Development and CSR. This was evidenced by the opening, in 1999, of the Master of Science (MSc) in Sustainable Development and CSR Strategies.
Today, CSR teaching permeates all of its programmes, and it conducts research into CSR-related issues. At the heart of this commitment is the Humacité© initiative, which was created more than 15 years ago and is compulsory for all programmes. Every year, some 600 humanitarian and solidarity projects are undertaken, 70% of which are abroad.

In a similar vein to Humacité©, Excelia launched Climacité©, an experiential educational initiative to explore another field of sustainable development. The main objective of this initiative is to educate students to become responsible managers by experiencing the challenges of protecting the environment and adapting to climate change, in an operational setting.
