NIORT…A MAJOR BUSINESS HUB
As part of its commitment to its local region, Excelia has developed a range of study programmes on the premises of the Centre du Guesclin in Niort. This has been possible thanks to the involvement of local companies, with Excelia offering programmes that respond to their particular needs.
Some 90% of the data that exists today has been generated over the last two years. This phenomenon is exponential and companies are not yet geared up to exploit this precious resource which would enable them to improve their performance. To address this challenge, training future skilled personnel who are immediately operational, Excelia has developed innovative and highly focussed study programmes. These programmes are now available in Niort, which itself is a leading city in the field of insurance, a sector that is at the forefront of data exploitation.
Understanding consumer expectations, optimising a company’s internal management, determining the right price for contracts, anticipating market demands... mass data analysis has infinite potential to fuel business decisions and innovation. However, due to a lack of suitable skills and expertise within companies, this potential is currently under-exploited. The objective of Excelia’s programmes is to train students to become skilled professionals in the world of data, with the ability to capitalise on its strategic value.
With a population of over 59,000, Niort is the hub of a conurbation made up of 40 towns and villages, which together total some 120,000 residents. Niort is also an area with a rich cultural and industrial heritage, as evidenced by its many listed buildings and monuments. As such, it has applied for the Ville ou pays d'art et d'histoire label (City or regions of art and history) awarded by the French Ministry of Culture.
The Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the 18th and 19th centuries have all left their mark on the urban landscape. The city also boasts villas and facades from the Art Nouveau period, an architectural style that flourished at the beginning of the 20th century.
Since 2014, Niort has been the largest city in France to be designated a Regional Nature Reserve as its entire local area falls within the Marais Poitevin, which is the second largest wetland in France.
