Each Business School has its own specific features: this is why several criteria are taken into account for the ranking, thereby helping students in their choice of School.
Excelia has been recognised for 3 very important criteria.
ADAPTING AND INNOVATING FOR GROWTH
In this time of extreme crisis, Excelia has shown an extraordinary capacity to adapt, which has been rewarded with a place in the top themed categories of Le Parisien’s 2021 Business Schools Ranking. These themed categories identify and reward establishments according to their strengths.
When ranking business schools, some 16 criteria are examined, including faculty, prestige, work-study, budgets, research, as well as international dimension.
Of the 10 themed categories, Excelia features in three… social policy, infrastructure, and international network.
SOCIAL POLICY: 9th PLACE
This criterion takes into account the percentage of work-study students, as well as the proportion of exemptions applied and grants awarded in relation to the cost of the study programme.
Excelia supports and encourages its students to pursue international opportunities by helping them to secure funding for academic expatriation and internships. It also works to combat exclusion and promote equal opportunities through its Foundation, created in 2019, and initiatives such as Ascenseur pour la réussite and its dedicated Disability Unit. Furthermore, it supports the most brilliant students in obtaining the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship. This year, two Excelia students were selected to receive this prestigious scholarship.
INFRASTRUCTURE: 7th PLACE
This criterion takes into account the size of campus per student, the evolution of the size of the campus between 2017 and 2019, the proportion of graduates who studied with the School’s academic partners abroad, and the proportion of students who studied at the School’s off-site study locations abroad in 2018-2019.
This 7th place is testament to the investments made by Excelia in offering modern campuses adapted to new teaching approaches. Excelia has three campuses in three attractive, dynamic and student-friendly cities: La Rochelle, Tours and Orleans. It also has several off-site study locations in France and abroad. In short, an ensemble of study locations conducive to student success. Agile, hybrid and well established, Excelia contributes to the national and international influence of its local regions.
INTERNATIONAL NETWORK: 10th PLACE
For this criterion, the proportion of double qualifications as well as the number of agreements with accredited institutions, as a percentage of the total number of agreements, were taken into account.
Excelia has made international dimension one of its key strengths and priorities by incorporating international experience into all its programmes. Whether the goal is to improve a language, develop academic knowledge, boost skills, enhance learning or simply to enjoy an intercultural experience, students always come away from an international project with a better understanding of the world around them.
Excelia boasts some 200 academic partners, more than 50% of which are accredited, and 15 double qualifications. Of its 4,600 students, 1,150 are international, representing 80 different nationalities.
In addition, some 52% of Excelia’s research-active faculty and industry professional lecturers are international.
This mix of cultures along with the opportunity for international experiences represent real added value and provide students with a better understanding of the global context of today’s business world. Furthermore, this added value enables students to develop professional skills that are adapted to the challenges and needs of international companies.
MORE ABOUT EXCELIA…
July 2020 marked a turning point in the history of Excelia: it joined the elite club of the 1% of Business Schools in the world holding the triple crown, with EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA accreditations. The renewal of its AACSB accreditation, and the awarding of both EQUIS and AMBA accreditations in the space of a few months, are proof of the School’s continued strategic development.
In addition to its triple accreditation, Excelia is renowned for its strong human and social values. In particular, it promotes the values of sustainable development and CSR. This was demonstrated by the creation of the Master of Science in Sustainable Development in 1999.
Today, CSR teaching permeates all of its programmes, and CSR-related issues constitute a key research area for Excelia . At the heart of its commitment is its Humacité© initiative, which was introduced 15 years ago and constitutes a compulsory project for all programmes. Every year, through Humacité©, some 600 civic and solidarity projects are carried out, 70% of which take place abroad.
