Happy at School

Heureux as an Excelian!

This is the first year that Excelia, notably through our Business School and our Digital School, has participated in this survey and obtained the HappyAtSchool® certification, which acknowledges Excelia as a great place to study. This certification is growing in importance and is an asset for the School, as explained by Roland Hartz, Head of Rankings at Excelia.

You've probably already heard of the HappyAtWork certification, created by ChooseMyCompany, which is awarded on the basis of a survey of the satisfaction levels amongst a company's employees.

In the same vein, they have launched a new certification, HappyAtSchool, based on student satisfaction levels, which Excelia successfully obtained in November 2020 following a survey carried out between September and November.

The concept: a response rate of more than 30%, a recommendation rate of at least 75%, and an average score, based on 15 questions, that must be higher than 3.5 out of 5.

Questions cover various quality of life criteria including

  • facilities (campus, premises) and environment,
  • teaching and pedagogy from the point of view of student stimulation,
  • student life,
  • relationships with companies,
  • confidence in the future, etc.
  • And of course, this year, a bonus question about distance learning!
"In this domain, the School particularly stands out: 95% of our Business School students feel that they have been given all the necessary tools to be able to continue lessons online, and this figure even rises to 100% for students at our Digital School. Excelia's environmental approach is also praised by more than 90% of respondents", emphasises Roland Hartz.

Excelia's overall score was 4.1 out of 5, with 85% of students in their final year of study saying they would recommend Excelia.

The next important step:

The ranking, which will be revealed in March and will enable the School to compare itself to other establishments. "HappyAtSchool is set to become a reference", explains Roland Hartz, "the certification is objective, issued by an external organisation, and it meets a new expectation, namely that the experience of being a student is both enjoyable, and a source of professional and personal development".

Sound familiar? Well, it's not surprising... Excelia's Experiential and Personal Development managers are already a bit like "Happiness Managers"!
