A natural choice
After my high school years, I was looking for a study programme that would give me a solid professional base with the opportunity of experiences abroad. The BBA International was a natural choice… the diversity of international experiences, the English language track and the different specialisations (I chose ‘International Sales’) were all deciding factors. Once I had been accepted, I was pleasantly surprised at the importance that the School places on clubs and associations. I chose to be part of the sailing club ‘ ISSE'O’ where, in my second and fourth year, I was in charge of a team of students. This experience taught me so much!
Learning across 3 continents
In my first year, I carried out my Humacité© project in Thailand, where I was an English language assistant in an orphanage. Those two months were magical and have really left their mark. For my academic expatriation, I spent a full year studying at Stephen F Austin State University in Texas, where I discovered very different teaching methods to those used in France. Once again, I have such wonderful memories of my time there.
My first internship was in Italy in the sales and marketing department of a company called HI-Fun. What I particularly discovered during this internship was that everything linked to the development of a company really fascinated me. For my end-of-studies internship I headed to Singapore, where I spent 6 months working for Instaroid in the sales and business development department.
Differentiate yourself
It’s really important to take the time to ensure that your professional and personal projects are coherent. Therefore, the choice of internships is a very important one! The end-of-studies internship needs to be in an industry and a country in which you can imagine working in the future. The final thesis is also a precious tool when you enter the job market. My thesis was ‘Big Data in the Airline Industry’ and I was asked many questions about it during my job interview.
Today, so many business schools are the same but Excelia Business School’s BBA International gives you the opportunity to stand out from the crowd not only thanks to its numerous international experiences but also other extra-curricular activities such as clubs and associations, business games etc.
You have to take the risk and head abroad… go far away, vary your experiences, try different countries, try different jobs… this will really be an asset on your CV.
