Created in 1988, Excelia currently educates more than 4,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students across its 5 schools: Excelia Business School, Excelia School of Tourism & Hospitality, Excelia Digital School, and Excelia Executive Education, located on its 3 campuses in La Rochelle, Tours and Orleans.
Excelia is a member of the French major Business School association, Conférence des Grandes Ecoles (CGE), and is featured in national Business School rankings as well as in the prestigious Financial Times ranking. In 2020, its Master in Management programme was ranked 48th worldwide, a rise of 18 places, and Excelia Business School was ranked 63rd best Business School in Europe, a rise of 16 places. Furthermore, Excelia Business School holds AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accreditations, for its Master in Management programme.
Excelia is a higher education institute with a strong commitment to research, with an active and dynamic Faculty of 95 permanent members, 62 of which are research-active Faculty members, spread over 5 teaching and research departments. Excelia focusses on 3 interdisciplinary areas of research: Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility, Tourism Management, and Agility, Innovation and Digitalisation.
Within the scope of its current development plans, Excelia is looking to recruit 40 research-active Faculty members within the next 4 years to drive forward its 2020-2025 strategic plan.
To be an active researcher with publications in academic journals is mandatory. We especially appreciate candidates who can root their research activities in one of the 3 interdisciplinary areas enounced above.

About the job
The Supply Chain, Purchasing & Project Management (SPP) department invites applications for full-time assistant or associate or full professor. The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Project Management, in Research methods, and eventually in risk management, agile/lean management or industrial management (depending in the candidate’s profile), conduct and publish top-quality research in peer reviewed journals (CNRS, FNEGE) mainly in at least one of the three research axes of the school and work effectively as part of a collaborative team. Courses need to be taught in English and French, an ideal candidate would be fluent in both languages.
Candidates must demonstrate research productivity and have a proven track record of teaching. Experience in the use of blended learning or any pedagogical innovations for teaching is considered a plus.
The position requires a PhD, ideally in Project Management, Industrial Management, Information Systems or Supply Chain Management (or other related fields). The candidate must be able to participate in research focal areas of SPP department mainly in one or more of the following themes (main fields are as follows but other research themes not listed below can also be of interest): Project management, Agile and Lean Management, Information Systems, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, Responsible Purchasing, Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Food Supply Chains, Supply Chain Innovation. The need in terms of teaching is strictly related to project management but research can be on any field of the department. The salary is commensurate with candidate´s experience and qualifications and in line with the system of remuneration at Excelia Business School and includes incentives for research publications.
