    Biography

    Bastien DUFAU earned his Ph.D. in Economics through a CIFRE thesis at the University of Paris-Nanterre in collaboration with Rexecode and the Chaire Économie du Climat in 2018. He holds a degree from ENS Cachan in Economics and Management, and an MSc in Theoretical and Empirical Economics from the Paris School of Economics. Bastien has taught economics and quantitative methods at institutions including ESSCA, KEDGE, University Paris 1, and University of Bordeaux. Before joining Excellia in April 2025, he was involved in designing and executing research projects at KEDGE. His research focuses on the European carbon market (EU ETS) and strategies to maintain the competitiveness of European firms under stringent CO2 emission regulations. He is also active in areas such as sports economics (sustainability of economic models for semi-professional sports associations), esports (emerging economic models), and regional economics (local energy communities, territorial embeddedness).
