    Biography

    Birjees RAHAT is a final year doctoral candidate in ESG and Sustainable Finance at the University of Montpelier.  She joined Excelia Business School in 2023 as an Assistant Professor in Finance.

    She teaches courses in the area of Corporate Finance, Financial Reporting, and Analysis, and International Finance and Investment Analysis.

    Prior to her academic career, she has extensive professional experience in credit ratings, risk assessment, and investment management. Ms. Rahat has received research grants from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Islamic Development Bank for various projects. Her research interests are focused on sustainable finance, ESG-related issues, responsible investments, and blue finance. Her recent publications have appeared in peer review journals such as Energy Economics, Technological Forecasting, and Social Change, Journal of Environmental Management, Resources Policy, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, and Journal of Asset Management.
