The Franco-German University promotes Franco-German collaboration in higher education and research. Excelia offers two study programmes organised in partnership with the FGU.
TWO CULTURES, ONE COMMON GOAL
The BBA International is a high-level management programme designed for students who are looking to pursue an international career. Through its various courses and experiences in France and abroad, the BBA trains students to become managers who are curious and versatile… professionals with a global outlook, capable of managing intercultural relations.
Excelia’s BBA International programme is one of the most international study programmes in France, offering all students the opportunity to undertake half of their studies abroad (2 years).
With a view to ensuring its study programmes are always of the highest calibre, Excelia forges high-quality, long-term partnerships, as is the case with the Franco-German University. The aim of this partnership is to develop and promote joint initiatives based on the academic and geographical complementarity of the two institutions, with a view to broadening the depth and relevance of programme content as well as the experiences offered to students.
A REWARDING AND VALUABLE FRANCO-GERMAN EXPERIENCE
Established in 1997, the Franco-German University (FGU) is an international institution promoting excellence and mobility in higher education and research between France and Germany. In fact, it is a network of some 194 major higher education establishments, Universities and Fachhochschulen (Universities of Applied Science) in France and Germany, and each year, through this network, some 1,500 students obtain a double qualification.
A 2020 study published by the FGU showed that over the last 20 years, for three quarters of the graduates of these double qualifications, a Franco-German study track has proved highly advantageous in terms of vocational integration and securing a job in line with their studies.
The same study showed that almost 70% of students took less than three months to secure their first job, corresponding directly to their studies, and 37% had secured employment even before graduating.
The benefits of a study track in partnership with the FGU:
- Student mobility is as an integral part of the track, leading to two qualifications that are recognised in both countries
- Students receive a grant of 300 euros per month for the duration of their stay in the partner university
- Students gain an understanding of two cultures, an asset highly sought after by French, German and other international employers
- The FGU continues to support and accompany students even after their studies through its network of Alumni
VALUABLE SKILLS FACILITATING EMPLOYABILITY
Entering the international job market with ease is not only due to the quality of the study track, but also to the language and intercultural skills that students acquire. Some nine out of ten graduates state that this Franco-German study track has enabled them to improve their language and intercultural skills (96%), to enhance their adaptability (93%), to develop autonomy and a sense of responsibility (91%), as well as to improve their versatility and mobility skills. More than two thirds of the students emphasised that these binational studies had helped them to increase their resistance to stress (74%) and improve their team spirit (69%)… two qualities that are highly valued in the workplace.
