Summer School… a must-see experience!

“From the end of June to the end of July, we run our Excelia Summer School courses as part of an exchange programme with our partner universities. International students come to study at Excelia for 3 or 4 weeks, which then enables us to send our students all over the world for a semester”, explains Alejandro Escudero Yerro, Director of International Relations for Excelia group, who is very much involved in this exchange initiative.

Summer School is back!

With the traditional programmes having come to an end in May, June saw the start of Excelia’s summer courses. Whilst Summer School courses have always been available to French students, in 2019 courses were opened up to international students as part of Excelia's development of short study programmes. “The health crisis brought everything to a grinding halt”, says Alejandro, “but now we’re back on track”, he enthuses!

Back on track… with no less than fifty international students (plus ten via distance learning) coming from our partner universities in Australia, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan to make the most of a summertime immersion in a speciality, chosen from a list of four, in line with their studies and personal interests.

More about the Summer School

During the week, it’s compulsory ‘school’ time, with lessons put into context through company visits which take in the most dynamic offerings in the regions where Excelia campuses are located: the exemplary Léa Nature (a pioneer in sustainable development), the Francofolies and the Chantier des Francos of La Rochelle, the Cognac houses, the perfume museum and the premises of Yves Saint-Laurent in Paris, Gucci in Florence, and even a meeting with the grandson of the luxury goods’ designer Salvatore Ferragamo.

The weekend = summertime… with students having the choice between going on other visits or spending time at the beach!

In exchange for the Summer School courses, Excelia students have no tuition fees to pay when spending a semester at one of our partner universities, most of which are accredited establishments.
