MOUnting investment in research!
With the signing of an MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) on 22nd April by Excelia and Sheffield Hallam University (UK), cooperation between the two institutions is now firmly established
This is the first time that Excelia has formulised such an agreement.
The MOU primarily focusses on research, with the aim of facilitating cooperation between the partners on both sides of the Channel. Less administrative hassle, more freedom of movement and greater flexibility are the reasons for signing this document, which is "in no way a legal obligation", stresses Amadeus Gabriel, Associate Professor and Assistant Director of Research, responsible for international projects, who explains that "it simply aims to formally set out the terms of the work which we had already begun together".
English and French researchers had initially focussed on the tourism sector,
Publishing articles with a view to retaining accreditations, as well as jointly supervising PhD students on the new DBA in Tourism & Hospitality Management. However, their objectives and joint areas of activity cover a field that is far more extensive.
Their goal is to organise colloquia, workshops, and presentations of research work and projects.
There is already a diary date worth noting: the first workshop on the theme of "Innovation & Wine" will take place on 13th September 2021, the result of collaboration between the lecturers of Sheffield Hallam University and Excelia, for which the call for papers will shortly be finalised.
