About the Humacité© Mission
This educational initiative offers our students the opportunity to actively engage in a project of general interest. After selecting their project, they will dedicate several weeks to serving people in difficulty. Focused on activities such as social aid, support, community engagement, training, or education, this mission represents a true window into the world.
A Pioneering Experiential Programme
In 2004, well before student experience became a priority in higher education, Excelia created the Humacité© missions. A pioneering teaching approach that provides students with experiential learning, enabling them to develop a deeper awareness of the societal challenges around them and cultivate essential human qualities for their future professional lives.

Missions Carried Out Primarily Internationally
Three-quarters of Humacité© missions take place abroad. In 2023-2024, the destinations spanned across 44 countries, with Africa and Asia being the most popular choices. The remaining quarter of students also discover the value of completing a Humacité© mission in France, working with partner organisations such as Secours Populaire, Auxiliaires des Aveugles, AFP France Handicap, Banque Alimentaire, Restos du Coeur, and more.
Structured Student Support and High Satisfaction Levels
Throughout their Humacité© mission, students benefit from comprehensive support from Excelia. A dedicated department is responsible for the organisation of this programme, offering a vast database of host organisations whose mission quality and compliance with requirements are rigorously assessed.
Sophie Pauget, Head of Humacité & Climacité at Excelia: "We individually validate each Humacité© agreement, and when the host organisation is unknown to the school, we conduct thorough investigations. The criteria for mission validation are strict, with primary concerns being safety, the social impact of the host organisation, and the quality of the supervision provided. A Humacité© mission is not tourism—we prepare students for what awaits them in the field."
Student satisfaction: 83% recommend the organisation that hosted them, and 86% report personal development benefits.

A Life-Changing Experience
Olivier Couzin, 2009 Master Grande École graduate, now an Internal Audit Senior at Pictet Group (Luxembourg): "Taking part in a Humacité© mission was a unique opportunity offered by the school, a real asset in my career, and a distinguishing feature on my CV that grabs attention both in interviews and in daily interactions. This enriching experience allows one to stand out through human skills and an open-minded perspective. It is fantastic to have a school offering such an impactful programme—it creates unforgettable memories and provides excellent preparation for the professional world."
Ariane Carlier, who spent two months in Bogotá, Colombia, at the orphanage where she had stayed as an infant: "I was adopted from this organisation when I was two months old. When applying to business schools, I naturally chose Excelia Business School because of its Humacité© mission. I always knew I would return to this orphanage as a volunteer."
