Excelia, a pioneering higher education group in the ecological and social transition, speeds up its decarbonisation trajectory through a partnership with the NGO Les Ateliers du Futur
As a key recommendation of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) to protect against future climate change, decarbonisation of the economy is at the heart of this partnership between Excelia and Les Ateliers du Futur. They have joined forces to educate both current and future economic leaders in net zero carbon best practices to accelerate and assure the Net Zero Carbon trajectories of companies.
Les Ateliers du Futur
The NGO Les Ateliers du Futur specialises in optimising the decarbonisation trajectories taken by businesses, thanks to the expertise of its members namely business leaders familiar with the management of such initiatives and experts in climate modelling. It will be contributing its expertise to Excelia as part of this partnership. For the higher education group, this partnership is part of an overall approach aimed at strengthening its position as a national and international benchmark as well as demonstrating its exemplary commitment to the environmental and social transition.
Excelia speed up its decarbonisation
A shared conviction of the key role of companies in tackling the challenge of decarbonisation
Decarbonisation requires a paradigm shift that companies are best placed to implement. This is a conviction shared by both Excelia and the NGO Les Ateliers du Futur, who on 9th May formalised a partnership aimed at accelerating the decarbonisation trajectory of the higher education group.
An unprecedented approach to training and to the mobilising of the Excelian community
Les Ateliers du Futur will support and assist Excelia on three levels:
- Contributing to Excelia’s strategy and increasing awareness amongst management of climate issues
- Supporting Excelia’s educational project and the advancement of climate awareness training for teachers
- Participating in the work of research-active Faculty members
- The implementation of a collective decarbonisation approach :
Excelia’s executive and management team will be trained in the levers for decarbonising the economy, more generally, and in the best practices of
the decarbonisation initiative, particularly within the framework of its strategic project. A ‘community of champions’ will be identified and trained to lead the decarbonisation initiative at all levels of Excelia’s organisation. Employees of the group will benefit from awareness-raising workshops and micro-learning modules.
- An expert contribution to benefit Excelia’s teachers and pedagogical content :
From May onwards, research-active Faculty will benefit from advanced training, for the more generalists amongst them, whilst those more involved in sustainable development will benefit from pedagogical content centred around decarbonisation solutions. The Ateliers du Futur will also offer support in instructional design, with the aim of helping Faculty to identify, in their respective subjects, the main building blocks of knowledge and experience required to develop decarbonisation strategies. These actions will make it possible to provide students with an enhanced pedagogical offer on the theme of decarbonisation. They will also have access to micro-learning content in addition to modules specific to the ecological transition generated by Excelia. In exchange for the support of Ateliers du Futur, Excelia will provide the results of the academic research produced by its researcher-active Faculty in the field of CSR/SD along with any subsequent pedagogical case studies. The Ateliers du Futur will, of course, provide valuable input in these areas, where pertinent.
